BAHAMAS HOUSE
With the intention of taking a raft to Miami, many Cuban immigrants are instead led to the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas due to strong currents. Following the damage from the hurricane there, these immigrants needed a new site to call home with homes built specifically for them and jobs generated by the farms behind the development. Each student was assigned a lot to build an affordable home on. This house is perfect for a family, with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and a spacious downstairs living area along with both porches and balconies. It takes advantage of the lots narrow but long features and incorporates an altered shotgun style.
